FAQ
Yes, you can use a forward-facing child seat in the front passenger seat. However, you should move the seat as far back as possible. Please also follow the instructions in the child seat's user manual and in your car's owner's manual. Remember: in the event of an accident, the safest place for your child is the back seat. Please also read your car's manual.
Your new child car seat must meet the strict European safety standards. Every child seat sold over the counter must have an orange test mark on the outside. This proves that the child seat is officially approved. It also states whether the seat meets the old safety standard ECE R44/04 or already complies with the current EU safety standards R-129 and i-Size. All AVOVA child seats meet the current EU standard UN R-129. All of our baby carriers and toddler seats comply with the i-Size standard.
We at AVOVA offer a two-year guarantee for manufacturing and material defects. But only if the damage was not caused by misuse. The guarantee period begins on the day of purchase. Please keep your purchase receipt as proof. In the event of a guarantee claim, contact the retailer from whom you purchased the child seat.
Yes, all AVOVA child seat covers are washable. Simply remove the cover and wash it with mild detergent on a gentle cycle at 30°C. Please do not spin the cover or tumble dry it!
The user manual is part of the approval of your new child seat. You can find the user manuals for all AVOVA child seats here on our website for download.
Just look for your desired child seat model: Child seats >> select model >> scroll and click on manual.
Although we try to make our AVOVA child seats suitable for all types of vehicles, some car seat designs simply cannot. You can check AUTO-FIT to see if your preferred child seat will fit in your car. But please also check your car manual for any special requirements and which child seat is the right one.
Or you can try out the child seat you have chosen in your car at a specialist dealer. Then you can be absolutely sure!
To make it easier for you! Because many parents know their child's height more precisely than their body weight.
Based on height, you can determine much more easily whether the car seat is suitable for your child and when you should switch to a larger car seat. Age and weight are additional measurements.
We have designed our 5-point harness so that adults can easily open it. Children cannot do this, as small children in particular do not yet have the necessary finger strength. If your child manages to free themselves from the harness while driving, please pull over immediately and buckle the little escape artist back in. You may need to tighten the harness a little.
We strongly recommend that you replace the child seat. Even in accidents at 10 km/h, the forces acting on it can cause hairline cracks in the seat structure. These may not be visible to the naked eye, but they still affect your child's safety.
With a used or second-hand child seat, you never know whether it has been involved in an accident. Some damage cannot be seen with the naked eye. But it can still have a huge impact on the safety of the seat. We at AVOVA advise against using used child seats. Please do not take any unnecessary risks when it comes to your child's safety!
Please do not use a child seat for several children in a row.
As approvals and standards in the area of child safety are evolving rapidly, an old child seat may no longer provide sufficient safety. I-Size, for example, was introduced just eight years after ECE R44/04.
With a 5-point harness, straps run over the shoulders and hips. These meet at the buckle, which runs up between the legs. This type of harness system allows individual adjustments to your child's body. And therefore ensures a particularly good and safe fit.
In the event of an impact, the forces acting are directed away from the child and into the child seat.
A 5-point harness is like a protective net that keeps your child safe yet gently in the seat.
Tests have shown that a 5-point harness offers the best protection in the event of rollovers and side and frontal collisions. That's why our AVOVA safety experts have decided to equip our child seats for toddlers with this harness system.
Older children have a body structure that is more similar to that of an adult. That's why you can use your car's 3-point belt together with a child seat.
